The Annunciation - 2001 Introduction, the first of year of the third Millennium. This wonderful introduction represents the original work of Leonardo da Vince, called "The Annunciation". The masterpiece illustrates the event of the Angel telling Mary of God's plan in bringing forth His Son. Morcaldo's design for this plate faithfully respects the original image, by keeping the significant particulars of the work of art and by maintaining the feel of the original masterpiece. The Life of Chirst series of collecdtos' plates is based upon masterpieces created by great Italian artists during the Renaissance illustating major events in the life of Christ. Each issue will be accomplished in high bas relief using a combination of resin and alabaster, and will be framed in an elegant border recalling the Renaissance period. The finished work of art will then be completed with a soft sienna patina.
